Concertgebouw

The Concertgebouw (“Concert building” in Dutch) is the place for classical music performances in Amsterdam. Dating back to 1886, the Concertgebouw hosts performances by international jazz musicians, pianists, violinists, orchestras, and more. For information about upcoming concerts and ticket prices, visit the Concertgebouw website. For further details about the venue’s accessibility, visit the Concertgebouw’s accessibility page.

Booking a wheelchair space
Both the big concert hall and small concert hall are wheelchair accessible. The big concert hall has 6 wheelchair spaces, while the small concert hall has 2. These wheelchair spaces are not listed on the website — this is to make sure these spaces remain free for wheelchair users. The seat next to the wheelchair space is also always available in case wheelchair users would like to attend the concert with another visitor.

If you would like to book a wheelchair space, please call the Concertgebouw via +31 (0) 20 671 83 45 (available 7 days a week from 10:00-17:00). In the big concert hall, I recommend row 30, chair 9 as it has one of the best view of the stage.

Free lunchtime concerts
Most Wednesdays, the Concertgebouw offers free lunchtime concerts from 12:30-13:00. These concerts usually take place in the small concert hall. If you would like to book a wheelchair space for a free concert, please call the telephone number mentioned above.
