Amsterdam has a buzzing nightlife scene, with numerous accessible bars, clubs and venues. The list below is by no means exhaustive and will grow as I discover more wheelchair-friendly locations for a fun night out.

Barca

LOCATION: AMSTERDAM oud zuid (old south)
Barca is a colourful and lively Catalan restaurant & bar. The menu is filled with all sorts of drinks, as well as  lunch, tapas, and dinner options. Click here to visit Barca’s website, or jump straight to their menu.

  • Ramp at entrance
  • Accessible toilet with support beams
  • Low tables
  • Detachable payment terminal
  • Service dogs permitted
  • Close to public transportation (4 min)
  • Ask a member of staff to unlock the toilet door
  • The entrance ramp is quite steep. Simple manual wheelchairs would tip backwards without someone supporting the chair from behind.
  • The entrance has two heavy doors. Customers with mobility aids will likely need someone to help with the second door.

Club Canvas

LOCATION: AMSTERDAM oost (east)

  • The Volkshotel entrance doors on the ground floor are very heavy. Mobility aid users will probably need assistance to enter.

Lotti's Cafe, Bar & Grill

LOCATION: AMSTERDAM CENTRE
Lotti’s is located along Amsterdam’s picturesque Herengracht. Open every day from 7 am – 1 am, it’s the perfect place to relax on plush sofas, study at a table, or grab a late night cocktail at the bar.   • Close to public transportation (7 min)
  • Ask a member of staff to unlock the toilet door
  • You may need assistance in a manual wheelchair as there is a pavement and very small ground height difference outside at the entrance
  • In some areas tables and chairs are quite close together, so you may have to ask someone to move aside in order to pass through
  • Service dogs not permitted

Melkweg

LOCATION: AMSTERDAM CENTRE

  • Oz, Max and Upstairs can all be entered in a wheelchair

  • Max venue has a special wheelchair platform with an assistance button
  • Indoor balcony for better visibility
  • Service dogs permitted (but please email in advance)

  • Disabled parking spaces nearby
  • During concerts, not all venues inside Melkweg have a special wheelchair platform. Email in advance to see what adaptations can be made.

Paradiso

LOCATION: AMSTERDAM CENTRE
Paradiso is one of Amsterdam’s important music venues, hosting upcoming and well-known artists from around the globe.   • Paradiso does not recommend bringing service dogs as the noise levels can be very high
  • The 2nd balcony is not accessible

Tunes Bar

LOCATION: AMSTERDAM oud zuid (old south)
Tunes Bar is a classy cocktail bar inside the Conservatorium Hotel. The drinks menu includes everything from whisky, scotch and sake,  to wine, champagne, and a range of colourful cocktails.
