Olympic Hotel Amsterdam

The Olympic Hotel Amsterdam is a modern and spacious hotel in the southwest of the city. It offers four wheelchair-friendly rooms — known as the Paralympic Rooms — along with threshold-free access to fitness facilities and conference rooms. The hotel also has experience accommodating specific accessibility requests, including ordering and placing height adjustable beds. General

• The main hotel entrance has a revolving door

• The reception desk is currently too high for wheelchair users, but there is space between each desk

• Disabled toilet near hotel lobby

• Spacious lifts to accessible hotel rooms and hotel facilities

• The hotel restaurant, where breakfast and dinner are served, has tables at a range of heights. Breakfast is a self-service buffet. Please ask a member of staff for help if you need assistance with the buffet.

• Threshold-free hotel gym (though no gym equipment specifically for wheelchair users)

• Multiple wheelchair-friendly conference rooms

• The outdoor hot tubs are not wheelchair accessible (due to steps)

• The sauna is not wheelchair accessible due to its narrow doors

Parking & Public Transportation

• The hotel has underground parking, accessible via a lift

• Larger vans can park in the hotel parking space outside the hotel

• Two disabled parking spaces available

• Public transportation is nearby (300m to IJsbaanpad bus and tram stop).

Accessible Hotel Room

• Wide entrance door that is manually operated

• Twin beds (depending on the accessible room)

• Low desks

• Low shelves

• Full body mirror

• The room has a safe, a coffee machine, a mini fridge, and other amenities (though some will need to be moved lower down to be in reach for wheelchair users).

• The temperature control screen, as well as some hooks and the wardrobe closet rod, are all currently too high for wheelchair users
  
  
  

Bathroom

• Manually operated door

• Low sink and mirror (though at the time of writing — July 2025 — there is a shelf under the sink which prevents wheelchair users from rolling right up to the sink)

• Grab rails on either side of the toilet

• A shower seat can be requested from the reception team
