Portuguese Synagogue
The Portuguese Synagogue is located in the Jewish Cultural Quarter of Amsterdam. Back when it was built in the 17th century, it was the biggest synagogue in the world. When it is not being used for services, it is open for a visits by the general public. The main building is accessible, as well as a number of additional buildings showcasing historic religious artefacts, books, and silver. Accessibility
The entrance is threshold-free. Two automatic doors are operated by a member of staff. The entrance to the Portuguese Synagogue itself has a ramp.
There are multiple lockers at different heights

Inside the synagogue there are wide pathways. The ground floor is accessible, however the upper floor balcony area (‘Ladies Gallery’) is only accessible via a staircase.
The Winter Synagogue and Ets Haim library have several rooms at different heights and with thresholds. Unfortunately they are not wheelchair accessible.
The treasure chambers are accessible by wheelchair
The door to the former mikvah has a threshold of approximately 3 cm, so may not be suitable for all wheelchair users
The Mourning Room and Rabbinate entrance have a threshold of approximately 2 cm.
